1.
Little beetroot
In
some cases, such as in baby photos, if the person in the
picture has very thin skin, it might appear too red. Just
by shifting two sliders, complexion can be made paler.

2.
Lighter reds
As
a first step, let’s increase lightness of red colors.
In the Develop section, scroll down the
editing panel on the right to the HSL/Color/Grayscale
part, that is, to the color adjustment slider. We should
work in HSL Mode, and start with Luminance
group. With the help of these sliders luminance of colors
can be increased or decreased.
Choose the first (Red) slider and shift
it to the right, in the positive direction. We have used
+50.

3.
Secondly
The
next step is just as important as the first one, but requires
more caution. At the same place, switch to the Hue
section and change the Red slider again.
This time choose a smaller value and check the changes in
the preview.
As a result of our changes in setting, red colors are transferred
into the orange range, and then to the yellow. We used a
value of +30.

Pale complexion
The
left side shows the original state, while the right side
shows the modified state. Make sure that you do not go to
extremes with the pale effect because it can yield an unhealthy
complexion. You only want to restrain the conspicuous capillaries.
Next we will learn about gaze enhancement in Lightroom.
